Chestnut Hill is alive with the sound of music. Better yet, you can usually enjoy a fabulous meal while getting your live-music fix. This February, we’re sharing our list of great places to catch new acts and local favorites in 2016.
- Astronaut Brewing Company
- Terry O’Reilly’s Irish Pub
Beer snobs who happen to love music should head to Somerville this February. At Astronaut Brewing Company, occupy your time with live music, board games and old-school video games. The atmosphere is hip at this spacious warehouse, and you’ll love the ever-changing beer menu. Sample the brewery’s latest 2016 offerings over a game of Cards Against Humanity between bands.

After a night of noisy fun at Astronaut, take it down a notch and recover at Devlin’s. Enjoy live jazz while noshing on brunch dishes like corned beef hash pizza, bagel burgers and an Eggs Benedict alternative with smoked tofu and baby kale. The menu has undergone a makeover for 2016, but don’t worry; prices haven’t increased along with the quality of the food. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options are available at this cheery hangout, so even your friends with special dietary needs will love a February meetup at Devlin’s.
